Watermelon Delightby ~Evellynn

Alrighty then. This is my first submission to the limited entry challenger for Fashion Fever, found here [link]

This time around we were designing for food. I chose the watermelon cucumber cups because I loved the colour. So this is my appetizer design.

I went with a summer look, cause these seem like a light summer treat. (the food is the background in my design) I designed a varied striped green shirt with a bright pink over shirt. the shirt is all ruffly and gathered to give some bulk and shape to the design like the watermelon does to the cups. Then I added some ivory lace shorts and details.

I really love the skirts swirly design on it the best! I also like the idea of a short crop top over a fitted tshirt. The color transferred beautifully into the design as well. Great job! I have a real challenge on my hands if I want to beat you

Thank you, I actually really like this one as well. And it wasn't even the food I was originally planning to do. I just let the colour and shapes inspire me. The cups have a really sleek, skinny look, so I wanted form fitting. The watermelon add some volume to the top and a punch of colour so I wanted my outfit to have that as well. It takes time to develop your design skills, to find a style that suits you and to find a way to interpret things without being too literal. My Early designs aren't that great, but I've been working at it for years now. Is fashion design something you're interested in?
